An Introduction to Plato

‘Philosophy is Plato and Plato is Philosophy.’ So said Ralph Waldo Emerson. There is so much that we can learn, but where to start? In this introductory series, we will explore some key aspects of Plato’s work and discover its extraordinary relevance to our modern day lives. We will look at extracts from his most famous dialogues, such as the Republic, Timaeus, Symposium and Phaedrus, and also some of the lesser known, but equally profound works. These three sessions will help us to read the dialogues for ourselves, and gain access to the depth of wisdom contained there.
