Photography and video at events

At events hosted by the School of Philosophy including meetings, residential study events, open days, concerts and topic presentations, photographs and videos may be taken.

These photos and videos may be shared within the School community (for example on a photo board, in an email or newsletter) as a memory of the event or in promoting future events.

Such images are anonymous (except when a specific presenter is named). Should you wish to be excluded from such photography or video, please advise the organisers of the event. A limited number of anonymous images appear on the website.

Any member of the School of Philosophy taking photos or videos of the event (beyond those taken for individual private use, for example when a photo is taken of a family member performing during a performance) will need to seek permission to do so from an event organiser, Executive Committee Member or School leadership.

How we protect your Personal Data

We use secure browser technology and store all of our data on servers securely. All data is only accessible to our Office Staff. Contact data is also accessible to our tutors.

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that student data is secure and that students are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore, we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.

How to access, modify or delete Data collected
