Hymn to the Sun (Gayatri mantra)

The Hymn to the Sun is the oldest and most auspicious of mantras from the east which has also profoundly influenced the West. When sounded sincerely, it erases the ordinary negative tendencies of the mind and awakens the vital energies which lead to liberation, health and happiness. An introduction to the history and meaning of the mantra will be followed by group sounding for a practical exploration of its effects. “The person who recites the Gayatri cannot fall a prey to illness.” Gandi.

Robert has been a student and tutor at The Melbourne School of Philosophy for quite a while. He has presented on most Cultural Days on topics such as: Gayatri Mantra, The Australian Republic, Shakespeare’s Sonnets, and Justice . He has tutored on several of Plato’s dialogues in Australia and internationally at places like Delphi and Tuscany. Professionally Robert is a corporate meetings broker, bringing together organisations and the decision makers of the companies they want to transact business with. This is across industries with a focus on technology; accounting; artificial intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and cybersecurity.   Robert believes that sound is woven into the fabric of creation and that good sound – be it a sonnet, a choral song or a Vedic hymn – can purify, transform and unify the being.
